Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, will tomorrow (Thursday)co-chair a meeting of the EU's Employment and Social Policy Council in Luxembourg with Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton TD. This is the final EPSCO Council of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU. The EU Commission will be represented by Commissioner Laszlo Andor and Commission Vice-President, Ms Viviane Reding.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD today [Wednesday] signed the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances on behalf of the EU at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva.

An informal meeting of Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs took place alongside the 102nd International Labour Conference in Geneva today. EMC® today (Thursday) announced the creation of 200 highly skilled jobs over the next two years and the opening of a new EMC office as part of a fresh €100 million investment in Ireland. The new full-time positions, spanning engineering, customer support, sales, finance, research and development and IT, will be based in a new EMC office in Citygate, Mahon, Co Cork, scheduled to open in August 2013.
