Pat Breen welcomes Workplace Relations Commission taking possession of its new, purpose-built office facility in Ennis

Ennis, 20 December 2019. 

Pat Breen TD, Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, today welcomed the announcement that the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has taken possession of its new, purpose-built office facility at the Clare Technology Park in Ennis. The facility will open for business in early 2020, providing an extended suite of workplace dispute resolution services.

The Minister said: “The new WRC regional office in Ennis will greatly improve the accessibility of workplace dispute resolution services for everyone in the Mid-West. From early 2020, the WRC will offer and deliver its full range of workplace dispute and resolution services from Ennis, meaning that employees and employers can have cases dealt with without the need for them to travel outside the region.”

The Workplace Relations Commission was established on 1 October 2015. The Commission’s core services include the inspection of employment rights compliance, the provision of information, the processing of employment agency and protection of young persons (employment) licences and the provision of mediation, conciliation, facilitation and advisory services.
