Labour Court to hold an inquiry into an application to establish an English Language Schools Joint Labour Committee pursuant to Section 38 of the Industrial Relations Act, 1946

Following receipt of an application from the Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection pursuant to Section 36 of the Industrial Relations Act 1946, and following consideration by the Labour Court of such an application in accordance with Section 38 and subject to Section 37 of the Industrial Relations Act 1946, the Court hereby gives notice of its proposal to hold an inquiry into the application at 10 a.m. Friday 4th October 2019 at the Labour Court, Lansdowne House, Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4 D04 A3A8.

This could result in the Labour Court making a recommendation to the Minister in either the terms of the Draft Establishment Order (a copy of which is available from the Court on request and/or can be downloaded from the Court’s website at www.labourcourt.ie/en/publications/employment-regulation-orders/english-language-schools-draft-establishment-order/draft-establishment-order.pdf 
prepared in accordance with Section 38 of the said Act of 1946 or with such modifications of those terms as it considers necessary.

Any person wishing to make objections to the Draft Establishment Order should do so in writing, stating the grounds of objection and the omissions, additions or modifications asked for. The last day of receipt of objections is 12 noon on Thursday 3rd October 2019.

The Court shall consider any objections to the draft Establishment Order at the inquiry.

Please note that it is the Court’s intention to publish all written objections received on its website at www.labourcourt.ie and parties making objection should ensure that all material submitted complies with all relevant regulatory legislation including Data Protection Legislation.
