Wisetek opens New U.S. Operations Center in Austin, Texas

Dedicated facility for IT Asset Disposal, Secure Data Destruction and Manufacturing Services to create up to 25 new jobs

Wisetek, a global leader in advanced IT asset disposal, data destruction, technology reuse and manufacturing services, today announced the opening of their new operations center in Austin, Texas. Joining Wisetek in making this announcement was Ireland’s Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD, and Julie Sinnamon, CEO, Enterprise Ireland.

Wisetek U.S. operations are headquartered in Maryland with other operational centers located in Massachusetts and California. The Austin location will initially hire over 25 new employees and is expected to grow well beyond that. The new facility joins existing Wisetek facilities in Europe, Asia and the Middle East to further build on Wisetek’s worldwide network.

The Austin facility is the second major strategic initiative in less than a year by Wisetek to expand U.S. operations. In November 2017, the company merged with Washington D.C. based CDI / DataKillers. The partnership produced the largest fleet of mobile data destruction vehicles across the country and now provides the customers of both organizations with total national and International coverage for on-site data destruction, IT removal, reuse and recycling services.

“Wisetek is committed to providing our most comprehensive range of services to the U.S. market and this facility will allow us to better support our new and existing IT Manufacturing, Data Center and Large IT user customers in the rapidly expanding Texas IT marketplace,” stated Sean Sheehan, Founder and CEO, Wisetek.

Officially opening Wisetek’s new US operation centre, Irish Government Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys said “Irish companies are known the world over for innovation, flexibility and the competitive advantage. Wisetek typifies the growing success of Irish companies internationally and particularly in the USA, where almost 800 Irish-owned companies operate across all 50 states are employing over 100,000 people.”

“We are proud to join Wisetek today for the opening of their new facility. The company is an outstanding example of how Irish organizations are investing in the U.S. market for growth and expansion opportunities, not just for customers but for their own operations as well. Enterprise Ireland operates from New York; Boston; Austin, TX, Chicago, Il and Mountain View, CA. supporting Irish companies to invest and grow in the USA. According to the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis, in 2017 the value of Ireland’s foreign direct investment (FDI) was calculated at over 85 billion USD, ranking Ireland the 9th largest source of FDI,” stated Julie Sinnamon, CEO, Enterprise Ireland.
