Entekra will provide 100 high-skilled jobs in the region.

Monaghan, Friday 16 November 2018 - Today Minister Heather Humphreys will open the European headquarters of Entekra™ in Monaghan town.

Entekra will create 100 new high-skilled jobs in the area following an investment announced earlier this year in May 2018. These jobs will be in the areas of design engineering, finance, marketing and customer support.

The Monaghan and California based design, engineering and home manufacturing company provides off-site framing for both residential and commercial construction. They have a specific focus on the U.S. housing market.

Speaking today Entekra CEO, Gerry McCaughey, said:

“Today marks a pivotal day not only in the life of Entekra but also in terms of how house construction in the USA will be shaped into the future. The opening of this wonderful facility allows Entekra to grow and expand our staffing levels in Ireland to cater for the overwhelming demand being generated for our product in the US market.

The addition of a dedicated training facility alongside our headquarters allows us to recruit and train our staff to the highest levels. This facility will see assist greatly in Entekra being recognized as the leader in off-site construction in the US.

Entekra are fully committed with the support of our investors, Louisiana Pacific Corporation and IDA Ireland to growing our staff numbers here in Monaghan and to creating a world class training and development facility for our current staff and our new recruits in whatever part of our business they operate.

At the same time as we are opening this facility we are also happy to announce that in the US we have recently commenced construction of a brand new $30m purpose built manufacturing facility in Modesto, California. This facility will allow us to produce 3000 homes per year within 2 years. Both facilities in US and Ireland will work hand and hand in delivering the best quality, fastest, most sustainable housing in the US construction market”

Entekra is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

Officially opening the new facility today, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD said: “I am delighted to be here in Monaghan on what is a hugely significant day for the local community, county and country.

I would like to acknowledge the huge efforts of Gerry McCaughey, who has secured this investment in partnership with Louisiana Pacific Corporation, with the support of the Government through IDA Ireland. It comes with the creation of 100 highly-skilled jobs in rural Ireland, which is a huge vote of confidence in the local workforce.

I particularly welcome the company’s strong commitment to investing in staff training and skills development. It is very encouraging for graduates, school leavers and job hunters to know that there are now more great opportunities to stay in Monaghan and get high-quality, well-paid jobs at exciting companies like Entekra.

I have no doubt that this is the start of a long and fruitful relationship between Entekra and Monaghan, and that Entekra will reach new heights with its European HQ in Monaghan.”

Martin Shanahan, CEO IDA Ireland said: “IDA markets Ireland on a regional basis to overseas investors and it is gratifying that all regions of Ireland including the North East are growing in terms of Foreign Direct Investment. In particular it is great to see the success story of Entekra continue into Ireland with the establishment of its European headquarters in Monaghan.

This is a welcome development in a key strategic priority location for IDA Ireland and the company’s presence will help to enhance the value proposition of Monaghan as a location as we market the region to other potential investors. We look forward to working with Entekra as it grows and I wish Gerry and all the team here continued success.”

About Entekra™

Entekra™ was founded in 2015. It is based in Monaghan Ireland and has U.S. operations in Ripon, California, where it operates a manufacturing plant.
It is a design, engineering and manufacturing company that provides a fully integrated off-site solution (FIOSS™) for both residential and commercial construction.

In May 2018 an investment round was announced of $55 million by Louisiana-Pacific (LP), and private investors.

Unique to the U.S. market, Entekra’s™ FIOSS™ streamlines the construction process by leveraging the integration and application of software, engineering, technology and modern methods of construction (MMC) to consolidate a multitude of tasks that are normally parceled among architects, engineers, building materials suppliers and contractors.

The company’s complete building systems offer a more profitable alternative to the inefficient and often problematic on-site, stick-built construction methods currently used for more than 90 percent of new-home construction in the country.

The company is led by CEO Gerard McCaughey, who previously founded Century homes in Ireland before the business was sold to Kingspan in 2006. It has a seasoned management team with more than 100 years of combined experience with modern methods of construction and the use of highly efficient automated construction technology. The management team includes Michael Treanor (CFO), Bran Keogh (COO), Gary McCaughey (Senior VP Supply Chain), Alan Fannin (Senior VP Technical) and William Kilpatrick (Senior VP Customer FIOSS Integration). The team holds a number of patents in Ireland on the manufacturing process and related equipment. Team members have also pioneered several industry-first innovations, including the off-site construction of the world’s first wood framed six-story building and one of the world’s first zero-carbon houses.

To date the team have delivered a number of pilot houses to many of the top 10 builders in the USA, and on the back of these pilot schemes have won orders for delivery of product to full scale housing developments in the Northern California market. The next phase in the company’s life cycle is to grow both technical and manufacturing capabilities on both sides of the Atlantic.
