In order to maintain the relevance of the employment permits occupational lists (Critical Skills Occupation List and Ineligible List of Occupations) and to ensure that the system is aligned with current labour market intelligence, the lists undergo periodic evidence-based review involving a public/stakeholder consultation.
As part of this review process, the department invites submissions from industry representatives and stakeholders on the nature and extent of skills shortages. The submission process serves to inform the department’s final assessment of the status of occupations.
Should you wish to be notified upon the commencement of public consultations to review the lists, please register your email address below.
Please be advised that the department does not provide assistance with finding employment. In order to work in the State non-EEA nationals require either a valid employment permit from this department or relevant immigration permission from the Department of Justice allowing them to enter and work in the State without the requirement for an employment permit. An employment permit cannot be granted without the offer of an employment contract.
